What to Look for When Giving a Reflexology Session

There are many steps to do before giving a Reflexology session besides preparing your healing space. It is essential to prepare your hands to avoid hand strain. The hands must be warm and flexible. After the first reflexology session, your hands will be tired from using less used muscles. After a session, rub your hands to ease tense muscles or bathe them in warm water.

This four video series teaches how to care for your hands and prepare to give a reflexology session.

Studying the Reflexology foot map will help identify where the foot reflex points, but note that not everyone’s reflex points are in the exact location. The only way to determine where reflex points are is through practice or the art of “touch.” Once you have given 100’s reflexology sessions, not only will you gain confidence, but you can determine where organs and glands are for that individual.

You can also determine the person’s health by looking at the color and tone of the feet.

What will you learn:

  • How to use your thumbs and fingers in a Reflexology session without injuring your hands (3.42 minutes)
  • How to read and interpret a Reflexology map (5:04)
  • How to Interpret Foot Skin Color and Tone 2:32
  • What Do I Feel While Giving a Reflexology Session? 2:00

Disclaimer

Reflexology does not replace traditional medicine. (Please check with your doctor if you have concerns.) Reflexology can help you to achieve good health. However, you still have to maintain your health through a healthy diet, exercising, recognizing your stress triggers, and minimizing or eliminating destructive behaviors.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a science and an art—Reflex points located on the feet, hands, and ears that represent the body in miniature. The nerve pathways in each foot create an electrochemical flow that communicates with the central nervous system to encourage the body to relax and release toxins. The principle of Reflexology is that all reflex points, meridian pathways, and chakra regions are connected to specific organs, glands, and body functions. Reflexology promotes the elimination of stress and reinforces the body’s ability to stay healthy and vital. This preventative modality encourages wellness through relaxation and supports all body’s functions.

 Few Reflexology benefits:

  • A feeling of deep calmness. Relaxation and rejuvenation.
  • Promotes homeostasis – balances the normalization of all body systems
  • Promotes circulation and encourages the removal of toxins
  • Reduces stress and promotes deep relaxation
  • Increases the sense of well-being
